‘Alley of Music’ for D’Decor at HGH India 2019
Here’s how we conceptualized & built a music inspired exhibition stand for India’s premium furnishing brand D’Decor at HGH, Mumbai. A first in the Indian exhibition industry to merge music theme with window blinds, the booth became a big talking point in the show triggering footfalls to catch glimpse of the display.
Client explicitly conveyed their vision of associating D’Decor with a ‘piece of art’ in the show. The need to be seen as a premium brand catering to niche taste for its exclusive customers base was reinforced again during preliminary discussion.
During the brain storming session, the team employed a free association tool thereby aligning the brand with potential artistic symbols. Host of ideas like a sculptor’s home, painter’s atelier etc. came up during ideation.
A striking resemblance of the proportion and shape of a piano key was noticed with the window blind which eventually imagined the booth as a music lover’s home with many music instruments.
One long wall was ideated as a giant piano wall with white hued blinds servings as white keys with extruded black keys. A guitar, wooden bar stool and notes stand served as props in the musical ambience.
DESIGN & EXECUTION:
Metal square pipes were used as space identifiers while high gloss spray paint was used to create black piano keys. The brand logo was made out of extruded backlit stencil cut logo, currently in vogue in the international expos, created a stunning first impression for the visitor.
A sophisticated color scheme was implemented within the brand color palette – black, grey & white. Parquet tiles on flooring and laminated desks ensured easy assembly & maintenance during the event.
